KRŸPTIC is a 4 piece metal band from San Diego County, California. Formed in early February of 2023 by frontperson and guitarist/vocalist Bass Watts-Fernandez and ex-guitarist Christopher Serrano (who exited in August of 2025), ex-drummer Ivan Watts-Fernandez joined shortly after conveniently because he is Bass’ brother, but also due to his great skills. Finally in December of 2023 Jeremiah “Jerry” Baldwin officially joined the crew as “the new bassist”, a long time friend of the band and a great musician, he was an obvious choice to fill out their sound. With Chris’ departure of the band another long-term friend who joined the band for a weekend tour and a few select shows over the summer of 2025, KAI NUÑEZ FLORES was the new co-guitarist. In October Kai departed ways with KRŸPTIC with no bad blood and KRŸPTIC continued as a three piece until January of 2026. In January, Ajah “The Jah” Rameshwar respectfully took the throne as Ivan passed down the torch, and with him his good friend Avery Angstrom entered. the picture! Ajah currently drums for Follow Coffins as well and is heavily inspired by Tech Death and Melodic Mtal like Necrophagist, Beyond Creation, Cytotoxin, and The Faceless. Avery is influenced by melodic post-hardcore and metalcore but also softer genres like acoustic screamo and midwest emo. KRŸPTIC is inspired by many sub-genres and bands, but some of the most notable influences are Hardcore, Screamo, Metalcore, ‘Sasscore’, Tech Death, and Post-Hardcore. All members contribute to the songwriting process in one way or another; Bass typically writes the foundation of the riffs as well as the lyrics/vocal parts and acts as a producer guiding the structure and dynamic flow of the songs. Ajah writes all drum and percussion parts. Avery has written his own songs that we’ve integrated as well as contributed heavily with songwriting. Jerry writes all the bass-lines accompanying the rest of the band and occasionally begins the songwriting process with a couple of riffs. KRŸPTIC’s goal is to unite all people with music while advocating for human rights, queer rights, ecological priority and climate awareness.
