KRŸPTIC is a 4 piece metal band from San Diego County, California. Formed in early February of 2023 by frontperson and guitarist/vocalist Bass Watts-Fernandez and ex-guitarist Christopher Serrano (who exited in August of 2025), drummer Ivan Watts-Fernandez joined shortly after conveniently because he is Bass’ brother, but also due to his great skills. Finally in December of 2023 Jeremiah “Jerry” Baldwin officially joined the crew as “the new bassist”, a long time friend of the band and a great musician, he was an obvious choice to fill out their sound. Most recently with Chris’ departure of the band another long-term friend who actually joined the band for a weekend tour and a few select shows over the summer of 2025, KAI NUÑEZ FLORES is the new official co-guitarist!!! KRŸPTIC is inspired by many sub-genres and bands, but some of the most notable influences are Hardcore, Nü-metal, Screamo, Sludge, Deathcore, and Groove metal. All members contribute to the songwriting process in one way or another; Bass typically writes the foundation of the riffs as well as the lyrics/vocal parts and acts as a producer guiding the structure and dynamic flow of the songs. Ivan writes all drum and percussion parts while Kai helps to enhance some riffs through harmonies or extra lead parts as well as providing some riffs of his own. Jerry writes all the bass-lines accompanying the rest of the band and occasionally begins the songwriting process with a couple of riffs. KRŸPTIC’s goal is to sonically bring a moshpit to the listeners ears, but lyrically they wish to bring awareness about wide spread mental and emotional struggles, political injustices (nationally and globally), as well as speak about shared frustrations within the world.
